autoconf detection whether platform automatically loads dependency libraries:
big switch for all KDE platforms, default is "unknown" aka "no"
first run of startkde literally needed 50 minutes to complete
ironically 5 month later the same symptoms occured with with GNU cash on FreeBSD
broken isnan/isinf detection
ISO C99 says, those are type-variadic macros
Austin agrees, that expecting external linkage doesn't make sense
NetBSD provides by compatibility symbols
even worse in C++, since libstdc++'s cmath undefines the macros and places functions into namespace std. of course, this is only done in C++-C90 mode...
